photo In the ocean, which covers over 70% of the Earth's surface, algae play an essential and fundamental role in producing oxygen and food. Algae can purify the water and they create places for marine organisms to inhabit, spawn and feed. They are indispensable for the balance and stability of marine ecology as well as preservation of fishery resources.
