Introduction

The “Historical Museum of the Land Bank of Taiwan” exhibits some of the extremely valuable yet rare items, such as ancient bank passbooks, money release notes, worker’s manual, land measurement equipment, land reform records, and public land release manuals. With a systematic organization of the exhibition, the visitors can get a deeper and clearer understanding on the evolution of the Land Bank of Taiwan (LBOT), as well as the recent development in finance, land reforms, national construction, and economy in Taiwan.
The exhibition is divided into 7 themes: “The Origin of LBOT,” “The Past and Present of the Architecture and the Surrounding Place,” “The Evolution of Financial and Banking in Taiwan and the Rest of the World,” “Taiwan Development Co., Ltd. in the 1930s,” “The Birth of LBOT after the War,” “LBOT and the Nation’s Progressive Economy,” and lastly, “Looking to the Future.” These precious contents will present LBOT’s past and present, as well as its role in Taiwan’s recent financial development.
